  • Overview

    The Software Development Project Manager will provide direction, guidance and organization on project initiatives. The position requires an understanding of multiple SDLC processes, focused on software applications and services implementations. The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of Travel Industry and SAAS delivery and support model.

     

    This individual will manage the project work and project budget acting on variances from the plan as well as bringing the projects to market, documenting project execution by creating a body of knowledge, and suggesting process improvements for future projects. They would have to ensure quality and performance of the deliverables being developed, interact with the stake holders to get the signoffs.

    Responsibilities

    • Leading overall PMO process including Project Management and Quality Assurance
    • Demonstrate broad knowledge of Project Management Skills
    • Performs the overall day-to-day management of multiple projects to ensure that project objectives are achieved within time/cost/quality constraints
    • Responsible for project documentation including project plan and weekly status reports
    • Responsible for ensuring that project business and IT needs are met as documented
    • Reports project progress on a regular basis to ensure the project’s overall direction and integrity
    • Performs management of the risks of the project, including the development of contingency plans
    • Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary
    • Liaise with business stakeholders, 3rd party integrations, and hotel teams in relation to the project
    • Plans are aligned with project requirements
    • Facilitate regular project and update meetings, takes responsibility for overall progress of the project
    • Ensure project objectives are understood and met, ensuring that the Project Team members understand the requirements
    • Ensure all groups are adequately consulted and are satisfied with each deliverable as it effects their specialist area
    • Track and report project actual expenditures as compared to the budget and effectively manage the project to successful completion within tolerances
    • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously within timeline and budget
    • Lead and Manage the Quality Assurance team to ensure that project is tested and that test
    • Manage documentation of the various test cycles and results for the project/product
    • Lead Performance and Automation QA initiatives for the product/team
    • Works as a Program Manager for the GMS team at TravelClick

    Basic Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 2-4 years project management experience
    • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or equivalent experience
    • Microsoft Project experience required
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and PowerPoint) required
    • Proven leadership and people management skills (5+ years), including –
    • Resource planning and leading timely on budget project execution
    • Managing multiple initiatives, including budget responsibility
    • Ability to size, scope and prioritize work
    • Experience in Quality Assurance Processes
    • Experience in performance and performance metrics
    • Detail oriented, well organized, and ability to multi-task in a results-oriented business environment
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
       

    Additional Characteristics

    • Knowledge of Agile project tracking tools like Rally and Jira
    • Strong track record of project delivery and benefits realization
    • Experience in defining, implementing and coaching others in IT Project Management methodologies
    • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record managing multiple projects

    • Expertise in Portfolio/Demand management concepts and benefits; proven track record of implementing these concepts and delivering PPM benefits
    • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills. Committed to providing excellent customer service
